Includes personal notes from Governor and Mrs. Scott and others closely associated with the administration and a hand written letter by the Georgia Governor Jimmy Carter to Governor Scott concerning the boundary dispute.

James E. Holshouser, Jr. graduated from Davidson College in 1956. He attended UNC Law School, graduating in 1960. He served in the N.C. House of Representatives for four terms. In 1972 he became governor of N.C. Upon completion of his term in ofice, he joined the law firm of Brown, Holshouser and Pate in southern Pines, N.C.
